7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Cultural Event of the “Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (JALTAB)” was held at the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka today. H.E. Mr. IWAMA Kiminori, honorable Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh was present as Chief Guest and Prof. Dr. AKM Moazzem Hussain, Chief Adviser of JALTAB was present as Special Guest.
The AGM was presided over by the President of JALTAB, Prof. Dr.Mohammed Ansarul Alam. Mr.OKABAYASHI Kuniaki, General Secretary of JALTAB presented Annual Report while Mr.Md. Nazirul Islam, Treasurer presented the Financial Report. Both the reports were approved by the house with great appreciation. In this occasion, book launchinge Cremony of the book “Case Materials for Bangladeshi Japanese Language Learners” authored by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ansarul Alam, published by REIWA also held. This book was a project of JALTAB and received the Japan Foundation publication grant.
This year JALTAB confers Crest of Congratulations to Mr. Mahmudul Islam, Ms. Khadiza Khatun, Mr. Mohammed Joynal Abedin and Ms. Fazilatun Nesa for successful completion of Teachers’ Training program from Japan. Crests also given to Mr. Nuruzzaman and Ms. Anika Begum for passing JLPT N1.
Later, Mr. Uzawa & Ms. Sina presented Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Song and students of the Japanese Language and Culture, IML, DU performed Japanese songs, dances etc. The surprise performance of the day was KENDO demonstration by Mr. TASAKA Shinnosuke, Mr. HARUTA Hiroki, Mr. TANABE Tsuyoshi and Mr. YAMADA Shohei. Audiences enjoyed and appreciated KENDO very much. Among the others Mr. YAMAMOTO Kyohei, Second Secretary of Cultural Section, Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh was present.
