Seminar on Japanese Society held at the IML, University of Dhaka.

Seminar on Japanese society held at the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), University of Dhaka. The seminar was divided into two sessions. In morning session, Prof. Kobayashi Jun of Seikei University, Japan talked on “Child Poverty in Japan”. At first, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ansarul Alam, Head of the Dept. of Japanese Language and Culture delivered welcome speech. Prof. Kobayashi pointed that though Japan is considered a developed country, there are many Japanese who live under poverty line but Japan government takes necessary actions to address the issue. The session presided over by Professor Dr. ABM Razaul Karim Faquire, Director of the IML, University of Dhaka.

 

In afternoon session, Mr. Morita Atsushi, Researcher of Seikei University, Japan talked on “Let’s Learn Japanese”. Morning session is organized by the IML; while this session is jointly organized with the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (JALTAB). At the beginning of this session, JALTAB Research and Publication Secretary Dr. Md. Monir Uddin delivered welcome speech. Mr. Morita emphasized on learning Japanese language. The event concluded with the closing remark of JALTAB President Professor Dr. Mohammed Ansarul Alam.

More than one hundred participants attended both sessions. After each session, an interaction question-answer session held.
